The Elsea Smith Band was established in 1977.  The four founding members, Randy Davis, Les Holder, David Shewmaker, and Larry Voth have stayed together through thick and thin, and through various music styles.

In the past several years the band has played the blues in numerous clubs, private parties, and festivals throughout the area.  Elsea Smith was invited, and thoroughly enjoyed, participation in the Kansas City Blues Challenge of 2004.  Their CD, “Further Up the Road” was released in 2004, and is available now.  Their latest CD, "Smile and Wave", was released in May of 2008 and is a recording  of their original compositions.
