Randy Davis ~
Guitar/Lead Vocals/Backup Vocals
Randy began playing piano, guitar and trombone during high school. After a tour in Viet Nam, serving with the Navy, he returned to seriously playing guitar. Hooking up with an old classmate (Larry Voth) together with Wes Holden and David Shewmaker, they formed the Elsea Smith Road Band. For the past 30 years, Randy has written and co-written many of the songs. You can enjoy them on the newly released CD, "Smile and Wave".
Les Holder ~
Bass/Back Up Vocals
In addition to playing bass for Elsea Smith, Les plays with the BluzBenderz. He lays down a solid bottom for the group. He travels the country looking for the best blues joints and great bands to learn from. Les is inspired by the likes of Victor Wooten. He has surrounded himself with good friends and has been blessed that they happen to be good musicians as well. He has also been a member of the Kansas City Blues Society.
Randy Kassen
Keyboards/Back Up Vocals
Randy has played keys since the lated 60"s in the Kansas City area. His musical interests are jazz and blues. He played with the "Casuals", "Shadowmare" and "Voyage" in earlier years. After taking a break from the KC music scene for approximately 15 years he resurfaced as the keyboard player for the Nortons for several years. He played on their CD, "First Take" (with Tommy Lane as lead vocalist), and then their second, "Wild, Wild Woman (with Danielle Schneblen on lead vocals). He is very happy to now be back with his "old friends" (once again) playing music!
Larry Voth ~
Guitar/Lead Vocals/Backup Vocals
The front man for Elsea Smith, Larry is THE ROCK. He is founding member of the band and brings out the best in all of us. Starting out in the late 60's, he played guitar with the Court Jesters who later morphed into the Casuals. Larry is a solid guitar player that creates the center. Larry, a writer and singer, guitar player, and friend, inspires the whole band. Larry has written and co-written many of the songs on our new CD.
